Clinical Teaching Certificate – Distance Learning

The Clinical Teaching Certificate is designed to prepare licensed nurse professionals who demonstrate an interest in teaching students in the clinical setting. This course provides the necessary knowledge to prepare you for the role of clinical teacher in a nursing education program.

Program

The Clinical Teaching Certificate Program is delivered online via distance learning, which includes four (4) self-learning modules. Students will be expected to engage with the content and complete various activities to demonstrate your understanding. Students have the opportunity to complete the course at their own pace within a six (6) month period.

Module 1 – Introduction: will introduce you to the concept of clinical teaching in general, and models of clinical teaching.

Module 2 – Clinical Teaching: will provide you with the knowledge and skills to teach students in the clinical setting.

Module 3 – Evaluation: will prepare you to appropriately evaluate students’ progression through, and completion of a clinical course.

Module 4 – Legal Ethical Issues: will address selected legal and ethical issues that will guide your practice as a clinical teacher.
